Working with Master Routes

Master Routes are normal Descartes Routing and Scheduling routes that are specially marked as ’r;MasterRoute’ in the database and have the limitation that they cannot be dispatched.

Master Routes have the following characteristics:

·        a Master Route belongs to a schedule (e.g. DefaultSchedule) and each schedule can have its own master routes

·        a Master Route serves as a template for instantiating normal (dispatchable) routes in the same schedule

·        all database records related to a Master Route (order, location, activity, stop, and order line) are marked as such via a special field ’r;MasterRoute’ in each of the tables

·        Master Routes are only accessible from the Data > Master Route Mgmt Mode menu. The dashboard will be populated with Master Routes and related information only.
